Depot Registry v2 is now available. We rebuilt the registry from the ground up so you can use it as a primary registry for all of your images, not just an ephemeral build store.

What's new:

  • Subdomain per tenant: each organization gets its own {orgId}.registry.depot.dev so credentials don't clash across tenants.
  • Custom repository names: push to any repository name you choose, not just project-scoped repositories.
  • Extended retention policies: keep the last X days or the last Y tags to control storage costs.
  • Pull-through cache: serve images from existing registries through Depot's globally distributed storage.
  • Any OCI artifact: store Helm charts, models, Depot CI snapshots, and other OCI-compliant artifacts up to 50GB.
  • Registry Explorer: browse repositories, tags, and manifests from the Depot dashboard (see the changelog entry).
