# Registry pull-through cache improvements (https://depot.dev/changelog/2026-05-06-registry-pull-through-and-explorer-updates)

> Published 2026-05-06

You can now more easily configure pull-through caches for Depot Registry. When you create a new repository from the [Registry explorer](/orgs/_/registry/repositories), point it at an upstream, and Depot will serve cached images from that upstream backed by our globally distributed storage.

Configuration improvements include:

* **Provider presets**: pick from a list of common upstreams (including Docker Hub, GitHub Container Registry, Google Artifact Registry, and AWS ECR) instead of entering endpoint URLs and auth scopes by hand.
* **Reuse upstream registries across repositories**: configure credentials for an upstream once, then reuse them on any repository that points to that upstream.

See the Depot Registry [pull-through cache docs](/docs/registry/pull-through-cache) for full details.
