# OCI-compliant Depot Registry (https://depot.dev/changelog/2026-04-16-depot-registry-v2)

Depot Registry v2 is now available. We rebuilt the registry from the ground up so you can use it as a primary registry for all of your images, not just an ephemeral build store.

What's new:

* **Subdomain per tenant**: each organization gets its own `{orgId}.registry.depot.dev` so credentials don't clash across tenants.
* **Custom repository names**: push to any repository name you choose, not just project-scoped repositories.
* **Extended retention policies**: keep the last X days or the last Y tags to control storage costs.
* **Pull-through cache**: serve images from existing registries through Depot's globally distributed storage.
* **Any OCI artifact**: store Helm charts, models, Depot CI snapshots, and other OCI-compliant artifacts up to 50GB.
* **Registry Explorer**: browse repositories, tags, and manifests from the Depot dashboard (see the [changelog entry](/changelog/2026-04-13-registry-explorer)).
