To reduce the time taken to create image layers, Depot builders now hash layer contents using SIMD-accelerated SHA256 computations, AVX512 on Intel CPUs, and SHA2 instructions on Arm CPUs. This change can result in an additional 15% time savings for larger layers, especially important when packaging machine learning models in containers.
